Our updated childcare and play data tool is now available

The childcare and play self-reporting data tool provides a range of useful information from 2654 registered providers across Wales.

Earlier this year we requested a range of information and data from all registered childcare and play providers in Wales through the Self-Assessment of Service Statement (SASS) process. This information, combined with data from previous years has enabled us to create this visualisation tool.

The data tool provides a range of useful information from staff training and qualifications to the quality frameworks in use. The tool also outlines the number of people working in the childcare and play sector and the number of vacancies.

Ceri Herbert, Head of the childcare and play team at CIW commented:

"I would like thank each of the [insert number] providers who have taken the time to share this essential information with us. The data we collect annually provides us with a comprehensive Wales-wide perspective of the childcare and play sector, helping us identify potential gaps and emerging trends that require further investigation. We remain committed to working alongside the sector and our partner organisations to ensure we are providing the strongest possible support for Wales's childcare and play sector to thrive."

You can access the data tool at the bottom of this page.
