Update on the Annual Returns Requirement

Annual Returns Delayed until May 2022.

Under Section 10 of the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016, registered service providers are required to submit an Annual Return following the end of each financial year.

The first annual returns for all regulated services were due in May 2020.  In order to reduce the burden on providers during the pandemic, this date was delayed by a year until May 2021. In recognition of the continuing impact of the pandemic on the sector this is being delayed again for a further year until May 2022. 

We will engage with providers further during the coming year to clarify the practical arrangements for the submission of annual returns.
