Wrexham County Borough Council’s adults and children’s services evaluation report has been published

The inspection took place in June 2022.

The purpose of the inspection was to review Wrexham County Borough Council’s adults and children’s services.

We also considered if areas for improvement highlighted during our last inspection of children’s services in November 2021 had been addressed.

In children’s services, we found some progress has been made since November 2021, resulting in developments to practice and better outcomes for children. The local authority has continued to implement its Accelerated Improvement Board action plan, developed to drive the change needed to improve the consistency and quality of children’s services.

In adult services, areas identified as strengths in our previous inspection in 2021 continue to be embedded in practice. Further work is required in adult services to ensure strategic and operational developments are focused on ensuring people can receive the right service at the right time and in the right place. We recognise some of these challenges are being experienced across Wales.
