IMPORTANT UPDATE: CIW Online system maintenance starts today

Some of our online services are currently unavailable. They will be back from 9am on 4 February.

If you're a registered provider using CIW Online

During the maintenance period, you will not be able to:

  • log into your CIW Online account
  • submit statutory notifications
  • access your provider records

What you need to do:

If you need to contact us urgently you can:

  • Email CIW@gov.wales or
  • Phone us on 0300 7900 126 (from 9.00am on 29 January) *

For urgent notifications

If you have an urgent notification relating to safeguarding or a serious incident, please email CIW@gov.wales with 'URGENT NOTIFICATION' in the subject line. For other notifications, please hold them until the system is restored. You will not be penalised for any delays.

If you're a member of the public

During the maintenance period, you will not be able to raise a concern online. If you want to raise a concern between midday on Wednesday 28 January and 9 am on Wednesday 4 February, you can:

* IMPORTANT: We are closing our telephone lines from midday on 28 January to 9.00am on 29 January.  For urgent concerns or enquiries during this period, please contact us via email on CIW@gov.wales.

The CIW Directory and CIW website will remain accessible throughout the maintenance period, showing provider information as it was at the point of system shutdown.

After maintenance

Once maintenance is complete, all services will operate as normal. Registered care providers will receive a confirmation email when CIW Online is available again.
