We welcome your views about child protection arrangements in Bridgend

We will be jointly looking at child protection arrangements in Bridgend in June alongside Estyn, Healthcare Inspectorate Wales, and His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue.

The purpose of the review (referred to as JICPA) will be an evaluation of how local services across agencies respond to protecting children aged 11 and under who are at risk of abuse and neglect.

If you are a child or young person who receives or has received care and support services from Bridgend County Borough Council, or you are a relative of someone who does, we would like to hear about your experiences.

We would be grateful if you could complete the relevant survey below and give us your feedback by 2 June.

Background

We previously took part in JICPA work in Denbighshire earlier this year; in Neath Port Talbot in 2021 and Newport in 2019.

Following previous successful joint inspections, the 2023/24 JICPA programme will be a systems review of child protection in each regional safeguarding board and police force area in Wales, to identify positive practice and any areas for improvement.

Safeguarding children is a multi-agency responsibility which is why we work with fellow inspectorates Estyn, Healthcare Inspectorate Wales, and His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue, on these inspections.
