Annual Return 2023 – guidance for providers
We want to share the requirements for the 2022-23 Annual Return as early as possible.
We have produced guidance to advise providers how to complete the Annual Return for 2022-23, which includes a list of the questions which will be in the Annual Return.

Who needs to complete an Annual Return?
The following types of provider will need to complete the Annual Return:
- Care home services
- Domiciliary services
- Secure accommodation services
- Residential family centre services
- Regulated fostering services
- Regulated adoption services
- Regulated advocacy services
- Adult placement services
When will the next Annual Return exercise take place?
Next year’s Annual Return exercise will commence on 1 April 2023 and conclude at midnight on 26 May 2023.
